BlizzCon has just ended this weekend and a new bunch of information about World Of Warcraft’s future was unveiled. Blizzard employees gave away details about the upcoming two patches, the 7.1.5 Patch and Patch 7.2. At the end of the of the WoW: Legion panel, the developer gave away a hint regarding the direction that WoW is going towards, and that is to another new planet called Argus.
The game director for World of Warcraft, Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed in an interview that planet Argus is going to be coming to in patch 7.3, even though WoW players were speculating that this new planet was going to be another different expansion.
Argus is the home planet of the Draenei race. This new race has emerged into the WoW world with the patch called Burning Legion, where they became a playable race. The Draenei had to leave their planet because it was invaded by a demon army that started corrupting the planet and its beings.
Rumors regarding the upcoming new planet have started to rise because of the implications it will bring to WoW lore. Players were speculating for a long while that Argus will be introduced to the WoW community, and that it will be presented as a full expansion pack.
The game director, Ion Hazzikostas has also stated that when the new planet is going to become available, players are going to have to go there and fight the demons. He also said that the upcoming mission on the planet is going to be similar to the end of Mass Effect 2, where the player has to go onto a suicide mission.
More details about Argus were not disclosed, but the game director said that WoW players should not get hyped too soon since the its going to take a while before it gets launched. According to Ion Hazzikostas the new planet will probably be launched around 2017 towards the middle of the year.
